Koenigssommer

Off to the
Royal Summer!

Without annoying traffic jams on the motorway and without long queues at the airport, you can relax, for example, in the fresh air by bike along the Rhine, on beautiful hiking trails through the Seven Mountains Nature Park or perhaps with a mini cruise on the ferry directly to the old town.

This year, a full program of culture, enjoyment and bargains awaits you there. From the beginning of June to the end of August, the individual organisers have over 30 dates on offer, including concerts, exhibitions, festivals, markets and, of course, plenty of enjoyment in restaurants, street cafés and pubs.

For 50 years now, a lively a twin town relationship has connected the German City of
Koenigswinter and the English seaside resort of Cleethorpes. This partnership, which was established in 1974 with the signing of a document in Koenigswinter and the following year in Cleethorpes, is celebrating an important anniversary this year.
On 25 August, the
Cologne New Philharmonic Orchestra under its conductor Volker Hartung will play an English programme with works by Georg Friedrich Handel, Henry Purcell and Edward Elgar, among others, in honour of the sister city relationship with Cleethorpes.

We look forward to seeing you!
